The Tim Is On Non-Vacation
I'm flying out to California this morning, and I shan't return until Sunday night. So please feel free to use this post as an open discussion to discuss any stories I miss while I'm gone. If I somehow manage to find a usable computer connected to a descent internet connection I may try to make a post or two, but don't bet on it.

I was flipping channels today and saw the KCC committee meeting on Noise reduction for the different Mountlake/520 proposals. I would like to see the costs comparision (including the legal challanges that are sure to come up - some being reasonable, others just wack-jobs with a grudge) between the 6 lane no lid and 6 lane lid. Those both had reasonable noise reduction and increase capacity.
In watching some of the members they seem to be a little slow on the uptick in their understanding of what the presenter was saying. But I think that was caused by their fixation on certain topics that were not important...i.e. noise reducing pavement. (He tells them about 10 times that he'll cover that in the end of the presentation, but they spend about 10 minutes on the topic, even after he's told them that they can not use it as it isn't approved). In the end they have to ask him to hurry up on some important topics to make sure he can finish.
Anyways, one over riding feeling I got was in the types of lanes, the KCC was leaning to only 4 lanes. I think that is wrong, but I believe that they want this because of their desire to not see cars using it. 6 lanes, though not great, is better for a supermajority of the populace, but not for the get out of your car crowd.
The Seattle bubble blog's been down since Friday sometime.
Hope you can fix it.
